Bold Miners have their first 4 professional players.
(left to right)
Brad Davies signed for Widnes RLFC
Brad attended the very first training session that Bold had when they begun the U10's way back. He is a towering forward standing at 6'5" and has captained Bold all the time he has been here, he has tremendous work rate and has always led from the front. He took the opportunity Widnes gave him at foundation and hasn't looked back since, he was arguably their stand out player and has gone on to play 18's Academy rugby. Don't be too surprised to see him pushing for the first team within 2 years.
Liam Carberry signed for Wigan Warriors RLFC
Liam joined Bold at the age of 11. Liam has made Regional and National Camps throughout his junior rugby and had been on and off the Saints Scholarship Scheme and was included in their foundation squad, this was until Wigan came knocking on his door. Once Liam had met Wigan there was no other option, despite interest from several other clubs. Arguably the best hooker at this age group, Liam has an attitude second to none and could come back to haunt Saints in the future. (he took great pride recently in beating them for the 18's Academy to end their play off dreams)
Tom Hurst signed for Widnes RLFC
Tom joined Bold from Portico at U13's and has flourished ever since. He has pace to burn and is very powerful, also a good goalkicker. He has averaged 20 tries a season for Bold and has already been scoring for Widnes Academy 18's, another player who opted not to play for Saints at foundation and take his chances with Widnes. Don't be too surprised if he is playing first team soon.
Adam Barber signed for St Helens RLFC
Adam was the first of our team to sign professional after signing for Saints in January this year, he is also going on the Australia tour in October with them. Adam started playing for Bold at 11 whilst still playing football, after convincing him where his future lies he has never looked back. He has been on various regional and national camps and how he didn't make England selection is beyond belief. A kid with a great attitude and determination and will have a big future in the game.
